Jason R. Bowyer N.E.A.C., R.A.S.
Born 1957 in London. Studied at Camberwell and the R.A.Schools. Founder of the NEAC School of Drawing.
From Jasons studio at Kew Bridge Steam Museum he has his centre of drawing and painting studies where he runs courses for small selected groups in painting and drawing.
Jason has had three one man shows 1991, 1994 and 1997 at the New Grafton Gallery, Barnes, London.

 

Awards have included the Camberwell Painting Prize 1979 awarded by Tom Phillips RA. Best painting in acrylic at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition,1986. Presidents Choice, Royal Academy 1989. Hunting Group Prize, Highly Commended 1992. W.H.Patterson Award 1992,1998. 1st Critics Choice NEAC Annual Exhibition 1999.
Artist in residence - Fulham Football Club 82/83. Kew Bridge Steam Museum 1997- present.
Overseas scholarships and visits - William Townsend Scholarship, Banff Centre, Canada and British Council visit, Museum of Modern Art, Smolyen, Bulgaria.

Jason is currently working in oil paint with mixed media making evocative paintings of interiors at Kew Bridge Steam Museum and the Riverside, Brentford, West London. This award winning artist creates portraits in charcoal and oil using his sensitive, but forceful skills as a draughtsman.
